This Saturday night is a special one cuz we’re going Back-to-Back with our favourite gujjyboy beatmaker DJ Raj taking over the decks for his Farewell gig playing a bass-heavy & Traptastic set. Joining him we have our homegrown House honcho Shashwat Pradhan repping Deep Sky Orchestra & spinning a Bass & Future House set!

About the Artists:

Deep Sky Orchestra

Deep Sky Orchestra is an electronica project by Deerav Moolani and Shashwat Pradhan is based on their inspiration from the new age of Electronica. They launched their debut ‘Synth Satellite’ EP in 2013. Since then they have performed at all major venues in Pune since then like the High Cookout, TGIT at Olive Bistro and PH Fresh. Moving ahead they launched their second EP called ‘First Avenue’ in a multi-city tour in Mumbai, Pune & Delhi. It is a three track EP that consists of deep, experimental and future house sounds.

 

DJ Raj

Raj started of as a DJ in Los Angeles about 8 years ago, played at venues such as Avalon and Crazy Horse. Influenced by hip-hop, rap, trap and house music. Raj is going to be doing a DJ set comprising of trap and bass.

Sublime vibes & grooves this Sunday at the Cookout with 2 incredible bands which are breaking our big into the music scene!

Drawing from a diverse palette of genres like DnB, Pop, Rock, Jazz, Electronica, Classical & Funk, Stitch In Nine showcases their amalgamated soundscapes!

The next band, Smalltalk, blew us away at at the Bandcubator 2017 with their unique hook-driven Neo-Soul magic & went on ahead to win it!

 

About the Artists:

Stitch In Nine
Stitch In Nine is a project initiated by Goa-born, Mumbai-based multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger and producer, Jose Neil Gomes.
The music that has been brewing for over six years, draws inspiration from a varied pallette of sounds, intricate yet simple genres of music like Drum n Bass, Funk, Rock, Pop, Jazz, Soul, Classical and Electronica. All these influences come together to make music that is rhythmically dense, harmonically rich, progressive and eclectic, by nature.
The music finds its outlet in the form of collaborators, who bring their own diverse knowledge and experience into the making of Stitch in nine’s diverse soundscapes. Jose is accompanied by Bassist Nathan Thomas & ex-TSM faculty member Dhir Mody.

Smalltalk

Smalltalk is a neo-soul quartet based in Mumbai. The band focuses on writing melody enriched hook-driven songs while drawing influence from the likes of Vanilla, D’Angelo, Hiatus Kaiyote, Kendrick Lamar, Erykah Badu.
After debuting in early 2016 at blueFROG Mumbai, smalltalk moved on to play live shows at The G5A Foundation for Contemporary Arts, Tuning Fork Studio, 3 Wise Monkeys, Hive, Anti Social and SOFAR’s Bombay edition.

Beating 19 other bands at our Bandcubator competition, they earned the bragging rights of a 4 – city tour with Mixtape, an EP recording deal at Mumbai’s Cotton Press Studio and a music video slot on 9XO!

This Sunday evening, Airplane Poetry Movement is conducting a Poetry Open Mic Night at The High Spirits!. We’re looking for the most fearless poets to perform and blow our minds through their poetry.
 
The rules of the Open Mic are - 
a) Your poetry must be original,
b) The maximum time-limit is 4 minutes (this rule will be strictly enforced)
c) Poetry in any language is allowed.

We have limited open mic slots (15 in total) so make sure you register yourself quickly. Registrations will be considered on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Coming in this time we have Sunit Zadav, Rahul Dhake & Robie Wood who are gonna pour out passion & talent into their instruments & vocals with acoustic covers & some originals!

 

About the Artists:

Sunit Zadav

Sunit Zadav is a singer-songwriter from Pune, India. His music can be categorised under pop with subtle influences from blues, jazz and folk. He is about to release his debut EP titled Quarter Life Crisis later this year. Most of the songs from the EP are guitar-centric, and inspired by real life incidents mostly dealing with matters of the heart. You may follow him on Facebook and his YouTube channel for gig and music updates.

 

Rahul Dhake

Rahul Dhake is a composer, singer-songwriter and lead guitarist for Metal bands Ragnhild and Cruoris. He composes acoustic songs about life, nature and different philosophy with Country, progressive and indie touch in it. He is also working on solo acoustic project. He is influenced by various artists spanning diverse genres: Steven Wilson, Mumford’s and Sons, Jeff buckley and etc.

 

Robie Wood

Robie Wood, a singer-songwriter from a Pune based band called Nu-Edge is a versatile artist artist in the city. He began his journey in music 5 years ago and has reached lofty heights in the industry. He is a cover artist, performing right from Elvis Presley & Freddy Fender in the oldies to Coldplay & Ed Sheeran in Pop to also Jon Bon Jovi and Rod Stewart in Rock. He also often performs a few of his own originals.

We bring the month to a close with the electrifying Agla Savera India Tour by Bangalore based Folk-Rockers Swarathma, in collaboration with Coke Studio’s superstar composer Clinton Cerejo who brings in Bombay based vocalist Bianca Gomes! Expect both Clinton and Swarathma’s repertoire along with a bunch of exciting surprises thrown in!

About the Artists:

Swarathma
Swarathma is one of India’s top folk-rock bands based out of Bangalore.
They are known for their rustic visual representation, folksy fusion melodies & hard-hitting lyrics that take on a relevant issues of our times, everything from the constant sensationalist media hype to the consumerist establishment. The heaviness of their words are balanced out by the light-heartedness of their upbeat music that is filled with permeating positive energy.
Their newest album Topiwalleh takes production to a new level, co-produced by veteran musician Loy Mendonsa.
Their latest new single and music video “Agla Savera” features soundscapes from their folksy roots layered with Hooky-Pop vibes by Clinton Cerejo!

Clinton Cerejo
A multiple award winning composer and producer working in the Advertising and Film Music industry in Mumbai for over sixteen years, Clinton’s body of work includes commercials for Google, Audi, Pepsi, Vodafone and numerous films as a producer with Vishal Bhardwaj, A. R. Rahman, Vishal-Shekhar, Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy and Salim-Sulaiman to name a few.
Clinton was the first contemporary composer from India to conduct a master class and a residency at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. Best known for his work on Coke Studio, his song ‘Madaari’ went on to become the single most pivotal song in the indie music scene over the last five years.

Bianca Gomes
A current favorite in the thriving advertising and jingle scenario in Mumbai, Bianca has numerous jingles to her credit. She toured North America and Europe with Bollywood mavericks Vishal Shekhar on the Bachchan’s much talked about “Unforgettable” tour.
Influenced by alternative, jazz and R&B, Bianca seamlessly blends these genres with indi pop and creates a sound altogether her own. With film credits that include Amit Trivedi’s “English Vinglish” “Ekk Main Aur Ek Tu”, Telegu composer Gibran’s ‘Jil’, and two highly lauded seasons of Coke Studio, her rendition of songs like the classic “Mauje Naina” continue to garner praise in music circles in India and beyond.
