Event Details

A high dosage of laughter coming your way as our homestar, Daniel Fernandes along with two of the comedy-club gems Anirban and Vikramjit make their way Home this Wednesday! The much awaited, Freakin’ Highlarious, is back to tickle your funny bone!
Anirban Dasgupta
Based in Kolkata, Anirban Dasgupta is an engineer turned corporate salesman turned… married man by the age of 24. Going by the smart decision-making he has always displayed in life, quitting a steady job for comedy was the next logical move. Over 250 shows old, Anirban has performed extensively across the country and is a regular performer at the premier comedy clubs in Mumbai. His comedy is about his perspective on a variety of subjects with relevance to our daily lives. Also politics (because, well Bengali).
Vikramjit Singh
Vikramjit Singh used to be a nice guy. Then he became angry, and when he couldn’t get any angrier, he became funny and never looked back. An ex-advertising guy, he has been featured as one of NDTV’s ‘Rising Stars of Comedy’, and recently won the ‘Radio One LoL championships’ in Delhi. He’s also a columnist with The Times of India with an (ir)regular column called ‘Why so serious’. So if you like your humour sharp, he has his knives ready.
Daniel Fernandes
Daniel said goodbye to a career in advertising to do comedy full-time because let’s face it, this is more fun. No really, it is. He is a regular at comedy venues across India and loves cats, dogs and snakes (we’re not kidding). Some of his material is said to be funny while the rest is just used to kill time on stage. He is petrified of the front row and rarely picks on people on Mondays. As far as the list of ‘Top 5 Comedians in India to watch out for’ is concerned, he’s not on it, mostly because that list does not exist! You should stop reading this and buy a ticket now!
Come home to the laughter!

About the artists

G.A.D.

G.A.D is the alter ego of Mumbai based DJ/ Entrepreneur, Nishant Gadhok. His obsession with music started early in life, going back to his early childhood days in Meerut but it finally materialized when he came to Mumbai in 28. The electronic music scene had picked up quite well in those days and the bay was booming with a lot of bass and house music. This is when he tried his hand at the decks and immediately got hooked.

His style of music cannot be captured in a few words. It is a mix of genres driven by energy and based on the ideas that he captures from the listeners. With time he’s moved on and now his sets are composed of a mix of genres such as deep, progressive, ghetto and tech house, techno and dub. The focus is on the energy of the listener and to connect with them on the right musical wavelength.

His set can be defined as a custom made experience based on the vibe of the crowd and place. The sets are characterized by a constant progression of energy and are guaranteed to pump fuel in any dance floor.

Too Sorted & R I S E

Too Sorted & R I S E is a duo formed back in July, 2015 by Ritwik Kalawant & Yash Babusheth. They were both playing a few gigs in the city before they formed the duo. They think of ‘Too Sorted & R I S E’ not only as a DJ/Producer duo but also as a band. Both of them are graduates of PointBlank Music school in London.

They have shared the stage with top-notch Indian acts like Nucleya, Lost Stories, Julia Bliss, Zephyrtone, etc. Having played for the VH1 Supersonic Pre-Party, opening for Nucleya 3 times in different cities, their set are high energy and also include scratch routine.

They have also played internationally, organising their own events at ‘The Book Club’ and ‘The Stags Head’. The are official remixers for Zephyrtone and Quistek have been supported by Nikhil Chinapa on his podcast TGTR. They have also made a number of bootlegs, remixes and sets that are available on Soundcloud.

About the artist
Dualist Inquiry
The emergence of Sahej Bakshi aka Dualist Inquiry dovetailed with the beginnings of indie or alternative electronica in the country at the start of this decade. The Delhi-based producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist has consistently delivered genre-defying records that have left an indelible mark on the electronica landscape. His distinct guitar-driven sound, honed at the prestigious Thornton School of Music, LA, is one of the few singular sounds in the country today, one that stands out from the ever-growing pervasiveness of commercial electronic music.
Releases like his critically acclaimed debut Doppelganger LP (2013) and the Natural Disasters EP (2014) have cemented his place as one of India’s truly original songwriters. His latest release, Dreamcatcher, is a statement of intent against the monotony of today’s commercialised, hit-prioritising electronic music landscape.
Stripped of the need to bow to the masses, Sahej went searching inside instead of out,
capturing photographs of his subconscious. He describes the process as vividly elemental,
allowing him to explore further depths of his sound.
He has been the preferred supporting act for an impressive list of international producers and DJs touring India, including David Guetta, Fatboy Slim, Basement Jaxx, KOAN Sound and
Hexstatic. In addition, he has performed internationally at the Berlin Music Week (2010),
and the Great Escape Festival (2011) where he opened for Beardyman and the legendary DJ Shadow. His recent international appearances have included Ultra Music Festival (Korea). The Avalon (Los Angeles, USA) & Webster Hall (New York City, USA) as well as Music Matters (Singapore).
A seasoned performer of the music festival and club circuit in India, Dualist Inquiry has performed over 400+ shows over the last 5 years. His festival appearances include the NH7 Weekender, Sunburn, Invasion Festival, Sulafest, BASS Camp Festival and India Bike Week.
Quistek
Quistek has no looking back ever since this young and dynamic teenager set his foot upon the music industry. Quistek is a Dance Music DJ/Producer from Pune, India. It was only in March 2014, that this music crazy fanatic decided to articulate his passion into something real, and that’s when Quistek was formed.
He specializes in DnB, House and Trap.
He has played for/alongside the top names in the music industry such as Axwell, Netsky, Above & Beyond, Norman Doray, Quintino, Thomas Gold, John Dahlback, Nikhil Chinapa, Anish Sood, Nawed Khan, Grum, etc..
Right from playing at Sundowners to Quirky weekend parties, he has managed to secure his name with some of the best clubs in the country. He has also showcased his talent at Vh1 Supersonic, EVC, Lakmé Fashion Week, Corona Sunsets, Stage 42 to name a few.
