With monthly nights across India, we aim to spread great music across various communities. The FLUX night incorporates the best of DJ’s & Visual Jockeys to bring you an experience like none other in the Country.
Bay Beat Collective (BBC) : The Mumbai-based BBC (Bay Beat Collective) formed in response to the abundance of standard-issue electronica so often churned out in clubs and bars across the country. Influenced by artists across the board like Rockwell, Nymfo, Klute, Chase and Status, Opiuo, Koan Sound, Zeds Dead, Jazzsteppa & more, BBC explores new aural territory, dabbling in styles ranging from breaks to drum n bass, and glitch hop to dubstep, with a partiality to “phat” basslines and high voltage grooves that are infectious, delicious & supremely funky. BBC have toured with some of the biggest international names in the electronic and bass music circuit including artists like The Prodigy, LTJ Bukem, Klute, Nymfo, Concord Dawn, DJ Marky, Jazzsteppa, Asian Dub Foundation, TC1, Bother Culture, Dub FX & Pendulum. The collective has played extensively in the festival circuit including Three years at the Sunburn Festival in Goa, Two years at the Bacardi NH7 Weekender and Once at Invasion Festival. In addition to this, BBC’s successful tour of Europe in August 2010 through Germany and the UK have put them on the world map. They are also scheduled to play at Outlook Festival in Croatia to be held in August 2012. Outlook Festival is Europe’s largest bass music and sound system culture festival. They will be the first ever Indian artist to take on the stage at this festival. BBC have injected fun into a scene, which was mutating into an increasingly austere and po-faced arena. Their DJ sets continually re-affirm the potency of dancing the night away in a sweaty club, surrounded by completely like-minded strangers. A prime time BBC show is a combination of high end and accessible musical generators like time coded vinyls, ableton synced laptops, midi controllers, projectors and even I-Phones. The BBC are changing trends and inspiring newer players in India with regularly packed alternative beat nights all over the country and are truly one of the emerging collectives of a much required alternative, intellectual order. Speaking the language of bass and translating every other musical vocabulary into a bass line, BBC is a non-stop party. https://www.facebook.com/baybe
Ox7gen : There’s no innate skill involved in quality drum & bass production beyond a surge of all nighters and dying city lights. Mumbai based DJ, OX7GEN (pronounced “Oxygen”) gladly resided in the undertow, as a self taught producer & controller wizard with influences running deep – cue kingpins like Netsky, Danny Byrd and Logistics for the first wave; then expect a rising tide of original liquid/ambient drum & bass. http://soundcloud.com/ox7gen | http://www.youtube.com/user/
